Welcome to the Bird's Boards, friends!

I am Corbie Mitleid, known here at PPF as "Ma Feathers." I am a full time professional psychic/medium/tarot reader, as well as a published author and hands-on-healer.

I chose to moderate the "Fanning the Flames" part of Phoenix Fire because I believe that it's not enough to SAY you believe in these things -- you need to put your back behind your words and make the changes in the world you want to see (thanks, Mahatma). Not just talk about them -- MAKE them. So I am here to encourage you all to reach out, stretch yourselves a bit (or more!) to make contact with others who may need your wisdom, your encouragement, your worldview or just your head, hands and heart to help them on their path.

A special note on the listing for charities and nonprofits -- these WILL BE VETTED before they are posted on the list; we want to make sure that what is recommended is legitimate.

I welcome comments, questions, bouquets and even (if tossed gently and politely) brickbats, as we get the Bird up and flying! This is a joint venture, friends -- without you, it's an echo in the dark. With you, it's the start of something BIG -- and very bright.

Ma_Feathers, have you been travelling? Haven't seen you posting.

I've been thinking about your "outrageous romance" - are you in an area that publishes the PinkPages- like the yellow pages for the gay community? I thought that might be a good resource for you. Now that spring break is over, I'm going to ask my son to find out the chapter leaders of the various gay/lesbian chapters at UK,maybe I could direct them to your site.

We've been advertising all over -- people love the idea, but apparently find 599-699 per couple too expensive (even though it is a FULL Weekend with everything covered). Just met with the organizers this morning; if we don't get more response by the 21st of this month, we need to cancel.

Live and learn -- we'll make it happen, if not this time, next time.

(PS -- I have just come off the road after a solid three-plus months of shows every weekend, and have been catching up on sleep and cleaning the house and reacquainting myself with the husband! So yes, I've been vacationing a bit but am back now.)

Ma_Feathers, I'm disappointed for you. The price seemed very reasonable to me- have you seen the prices for Disneyworld lately?

From your last post it sounded like you needed a real retreat from the world.

The Outrageous Romance weekend was cancelled due to lack of response.

Next year, perhaps.
