Ma Feathers - I know this is a year (or so) later - but that was a wonderful story about the change in people!

We need that so much more now!

I work with one of those folks the story started off with - she doesn't get it that she comes off so insencire (sp), and that she is a major brown noser. Our former boss that was her protection has moved to another company. We have many rules in place in the office to keep things as civil as possible when you have so many women working in the same office... there can be drama... and unfortunately she does not understand that most of these rules have come about because of her actions, inaction, and rudeness - she doesn't think the rules apply to her either. Then she just doesn't understand why no one likes her - not even her boyfriend, really.

So I work on my own issues - opening my heart, being 'real' 24/7, helping others where I can, letting other's in traffic, hugs whenever appropriate, a hand with the door, etc.

Eagle Skyfire - have you figured out anything on how to accomplish a World Peace Day? Would it start with legislature, United Nations, or Grass Roots all the way? I'm very curious if you had gotten anywhere with this!

In light & love,

Karen

Hellooooo!

I've come by to dust off the table and see how everyone is?

I'm doing what I can to help with spreading light and joy - and finally breaking open the seals on my heart chakra!

My heart chakra has been sealed shut for so long - it is fantastic to finally be able to crack the nut surrounding it and start letting the love shine!

I was just going to say I had no clue what it was holding it back, but then was just guided - giving up my boat. I have lived aboard my boat for 8 years, the last year and a half I was trying to fix it up, finish all the projects on it to sell it, the port did not want liveaboards anymore, and were charging horrid fees.

I had a chance to move into a small cabin, minimal rent - potential to buy the place, a deal I can't pass up and didn't! I am still in process of moving in.

The big thing was, the boat. It had been out of the water for 2 years, no one biting at the opportunity to purchase (ok, not actively listed), and I knew I could not sustain the boat and live on land anymore - I've been bouncing between friend's homes for the last year and a half, and I'm ready to settle in my own place.

By giving up the boat - not trying to sell it - that was the beginning of the release. By accepting that there are good, giving people out there, my heart was allowed to open.

I'm not the only one trying to change the world with babysteps or giant steps - there are others doing what they can to help people in their own way too.

We can survive by helping each other through this crisis we are all facing.

Sending light and love to all!

So far I've sent the 3 I've taken to Samtibbs - she posted in the Elder's table. Still have to get more though - inside is a wreck still - so much to clean & put away! I will share as soon as possible! Heck, I still have to print out pics from CHristmas tree...

I love how many trees I'm in the middle of - and the creek close by. This will be really interesting!

Well, the cabin has gone by the wayside - too many mice & larger critters living in the walls, and the owner had enough of dealing with the co-owners of the property - he decided to sell it. It was lovely in the spring while I was able to live there - until the meth heads started breaking in to the other cabins & stealing things.

Now I live in a lovely small mother in law apartment in town, 6 miles from work. Much better than the 17 miles one way for the cabin.

I am working my way towards a house warming - instead of people bringing the usual kind of gifts I want to ask them to bring a stone, piece of glass (like beach glass), shell, or some small object they notice & I will make a mosaic of some kind from these - be it a garden tile, picture frame, or??? Just depends on the mood & what comes in.

(I know this is a much better place for my kitty as well - every other place my cat has pulled her belly fur out under stress - we have been here 3-4 months & she has lovely, full belly of fur! And every where else *snicker*)

Now I'm wondering about having it as a Halloween party as well, but ... not sure.

That sounds like a great idea,Karentia...my niece has used those stepping stone kits to make garden plaques with her children...you could use your "welcome stones" as part of a mosaic and take it with you until you find that perfect spot that's yours alone.

the mind boggles at the variations you could do!

I'm glad you posted here. I knew we had some sort of welcoming thread but couldn't find it...

Amen to that!, Maxecat!

Whew! We're going crazy here getting our haunted house together for the public. We hope that this year we can attract even more folks. We collect food for the local food cupboard, & women's shelter. Last year we only had about 240 people. I'm aggressively trying to promote our home haunt.
If anybody's curious just type in quotation marks :
"Old Bloodworth Manor"

We don't have a website, but I was shocked to see how many "hits" we had on the internet. Which is good, but goes to prove that you never know who is watching or what will be posted on the internet.
Shocked

Is it possible to have a human interest story written about your efforts for local papers? Libraries might be interested in posters or flyers and the women's shelters might have some public relation ties that could promote your work on their behalf.

I think the only Haunted House done anymore here is sponsered by the Lions club. Church pressures have all but eliminated Halloween by having harvest dances and parties for young kids on that night. Haven't seen a trick or treater in years and if Halloween falls on a Sunday the celebrations are moved to another day.

as if any of that nonsense mattered to a Higher Power.

Good luck with your House. Hope people can drop off some food for your shelters. They'll squeal about the economy then drop a paycheck at WalMart buying "stuff".grrrrrr

Oh, I love doing haunted houses! Much more fun being behind the scenes than going through one. Good luck on a better year Eagle!

My daughter is talking about getting a halloween party (costume of course) going in a barn, so my liitle house warming will not be then - might wait till after Christmas now. I'm looking at the piles of bins & thinking of all the stuff I should be making, but have just not had the gumption lately to do more than collect up the stuff.

I have too much to make again for this tree. Oh, did I really just say that? Found lovely black ribbon done up so under the lights looks like it is trimmed in diamonds! Love sparkly objects!

Thanks for the well wishes! And yes, I thought the mosiac much more interesting (read don't need funky gifts) than a standard housewarming. We could do a hawaiian theme... Tiki torches & hawaiian shirts...ooooo! Cool Laughing

Laughing

No house warming party.

Either too busy, or too many other people have conflicting schedules.

Found out little more about the job - or why I got passed over. They were focusing on the negative, not the positive side. They saw 3 things in my personnell file over the last 2 years. Nothing about how flexible I've been to cover others, noting about how I've effected other passengers in a positive way. A driver & I saved another client's life 3 years ago - does anyone know that? No. But the one that just occurred this last week is getting a write up in the paper.

My really nice letter from a client recently? Evidently doesn't count for didley.

They saw someone young and fresh with new energy.

Do they have to train me? No.

Do they have to train her? Yes.

Do I like working nights & weekends? Yes, I have requested it, and mentioned it every opportunity.

The new full time shift - Tuesday thru Saturday, closing shift.

So here is a shout out to Maxecat, Weesa & Samtibbs.

I know I can still chat here - I know it's not the cozy Hogshead, but we can bring some of that life & energy here as well, where Phoebe needs it.

Oh, from Pyramid Imports they sent me 2 dresses, (size is too big) and only one wall hanging. Sending the dresses back, exchanging the one dress for the correct size. I called last night about the wall hanging, they are shipping the other one. I decided to keep the order & not return the whole thing, because the dress is such a lovely color, the fabric is soft, nice cut, and LONG! I can always shorten it & use the spare fabric for a shawl or something. Plus the hangings are lovely, I've wanted them both since I first saw them in the magazine, and by the time I can afford them again, they will be discontinued.

I earned these dammit.

Hugs all around!

So I will keep it - when I finally get it all.

Is it the Pyramid Collection catalog you're talking about? If so which items..so I can look them up...

It's always easier to write up the bad stuff..something about it taking 10 positives to equate the same attention as 1 negative..

Will the starting salary for the full time help be the same as yours? Higher? And does this person have experience? I had no idea there were part time jobs at $22 per hour...all in all I still make minimum wage.

Let's see what happens. Maybe it's one of those newly opened windows optimists talk about.

I've been battling my own crisis of faith recently.Pushing back the fear that aligning yourself with the Universe or accepting a Divine Plan is all crap and a waste of time trying. No matter how hard I try,it is hard to dance in a **** storm.

I'm still pushing it back but more and more I see injustice and inequities and I wonder..can that many people be so out of touch with the universe..or how much time does it really take for the universe to respond..

and now your story is added to the mix.

Since this is a site of second ,third, and fourth chances..let's give it a try.

If you were hiring you what would you want in an employee..from first impression down..if there are areas you think could be refreshed now's the time..get into that work out routine because it can only improve your mental outlook..and I'll do the same.

Doesn't solve the problem encountered online and I certainly miss seeing you more often. While I don't want HPANA to disolve,if the action gets much slower it just might. With the exception of last year's trolls there don't seem to be many pitfalls here..if HPANA does go under there're be the Fire for those who want it.

gotta go..it's been awhile since I visited..

Thanks for the quick response!

I'm glad to see you too!

Yes, the Pyramid collection:
1. the Ocean Breeze halter dress - ordered 2X because I thought it would fit - it is really long! About to my ankles.

2. the other is the pair of wall hangings by Mucha - the Morning Star & Evening Star.

I have wanted those hangings since I first saw them, and buying the pair at the same time, they give you a deal.

The dress - just so pretty! One pocket on the right side in the folds, all in a soft cotton. Such a feminine peice. Will have to upgrade my strapless - perhaps get one of those convertable 'lifters' that can be a halter style.

As for the salary, starting wage is $17.00. So they know already that I am above that. Could have something to do with it as well. Only word I've heard from Admin side for the longest time is "Budget!"

I know I'm paid a lot for what we 'do'. But we also take care of a lot of people's safety and safely. I know what to do in case of emergency.

The newbies we've been told nothing about - won't hear anything until they pass their physical & pee test. I know they don't come from any major transit background is all.

Yes, **** storm is about right.

5-6 clients passed away this week, one took herself off dialysis & won't last the day.

Weird things, the earth is shifting in her skin, like she's got an itch she can't scratch.

I have not been able to do any real meditation lately, have not done any candle ceremonies, have no clue what the phase of the moon is (have stones in sea salt on the window ledge cleansing) because have not seen it lately - clear sky last night, no moon. Just feel off kilter.

Well, if something does come up for getting my own pc, I'll let y'all know, that's for sure!
